Testing batteries in the high-voltage range

The range of an electric car is still one of the major challenges of electromobility. For this reason, ever more powerful batteries are being developed that can store significantly more energy. However, as storage capacity increases, so does the energy density of lithium-ion batteries - and thus the risk of fire and explosion.

To be able to guarantee safety, so-called battery load tests are carried out during battery development. IPETRONIK supports Green Testing Lab, a testing institute for the automotive industry, in their battery load tests.

With the appropriate hardware, temperatures in the high-voltage range are measured reliably and safely. The overall system is designed for applications under extreme conditions; it can be configured easily and quickly and enables the synchronous acquisition of temperatures (HV range), voltage, current, pressure, force and displacement.
